Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced seven more districts in the state during Partha Chatterjee's phase. Addressing a press conference in Nabanna on Monday, the Chief Minister said, "Seven more districts are being formed in the state."
Which districts are new in the state? Mamata said that there are three districts in North 24 Parganas. Banggaon, Bagda falls there, so it is Ichamati district. Also, the district is Basirhat. whose name will be given later. The new district is Sundarban district. Murshidabad has three districts Kandi, Baharampur, and Murshidabad. Bankura is getting a new district Bishnupur, and Nadia is getting a Ranaghat district.
Mamata said, two more new districts are being created by breaking Murshidabad district, Baharampur-Jangipur, and Kandi. Ranaghat district will be formed out of Nadia district. North 24 Parganas district is being split and two more new districts are being created. Among them, Bangaon-Baghda is the Ichamati district. A new district is also being created with the Basirhat subdivision. Besides, there are two new districts named Bishnupur and Sundarban.
